Terms of Service

Version 1 · effective 9 October 2026 · clarified 12 October 2026

These Terms are the "Main Agreement" the Data Processing Agreement refers to.

1. Parties, acceptance and the service

  1. Who we are. Salty is provided by Amaracus Limited, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16415324, with its registered office at Flat 5, 72 Balcombe Street, London NW1 6NE, United Kingdom ("Salty", "we").
  2. Who you are. "You" or the "Brand" is the business that uses Salty for its own Instagram account and, optionally, its Shopify store. You use Salty for business purposes only, not as a consumer.
  3. Acceptance. You accept these Terms and the Data Processing Agreement (the "DPA") when you activate your Salty account from an invitation, or when you install the Salty app from the Shopify App Store and link a store to your Salty account. The person who accepts confirms they may bind the Brand.
  4. What Salty does. Salty replies on your behalf to people who comment on or message your Instagram account. It recommends products from your catalogue, can give a single-use discount code within limits you set, and shows which conversations and posts led to an order.
  5. Triggered only. Salty replies only to people who wrote to you first. It never sends unsolicited messages and never researches people's profiles.
  6. Your control. You choose how Salty works in the dashboard: replies sent automatically, every reply held for your approval, or all replies paused.

2. Accounts, your responsibilities and acceptable use

  1. Accounts. Accounts are created by invitation. You keep your password and your team members' passwords secret, and you tell us at once if you think someone else has access. You are responsible for what your team does in Salty.
  2. Your customers' data. You are the controller of your customers' personal data and Salty is your processor, as set out in the DPA. You make sure you have a lawful basis for the processing, that your privacy notice tells your customers about it, and that you honour their requests.
  3. Your platforms. You comply with the terms of Instagram (Meta), Shopify, Klaviyo and any other service you connect, and you only connect accounts and stores you are entitled to use.
  4. Your offers. You decide the discount limits, prices and promises Salty may use. Product information and stock come from your own catalogue, and you keep them accurate.
  5. Telling people they talk to an AI. Where the law requires it, for example under Article 50 of the EU AI Act, you make sure people know they are interacting with an AI system.
  6. Acceptable use. You must not use Salty to:
    • message anyone who has not written to you first, or send spam;
    • send unlawful, misleading, discriminatory or harmful content;
    • collect special categories of personal data on purpose, or data about children;
    • scrape, resell, reverse engineer or overload the service, or get around its limits or security.

3. AI-written replies, platforms and data protection

  1. AI-written replies. Replies are written by an AI model from your settings, your published knowledge and your catalogue. They can still be wrong. If you need every reply checked, use the approval mode. Salty does not promise any level of sales.
  2. Third-party platforms. Salty depends on Instagram, Shopify and other platforms you connect. Their rules, approvals, outages and API changes can limit or stop parts of the service, and we are not responsible for them. Some features, such as connecting a new Instagram account, may wait for a platform's review.
  3. Data protection. The DPA forms part of these Terms and governs how Salty processes your customers' personal data. Our privacy policy describes what Salty processes and who else processes it.
  4. No training and no sale. We do not use your data or your customers' data to train AI models, we do not sell it, and we do not use one brand's data for another.
  5. Service data. We may use counts and technical logs that identify no person, such as the number of conversations or errors, to run, secure and improve Salty.

4. Plans, fees and billing

How you use SaltyHow you payPlan
With a Shopify store connected (installed from the Shopify App Store), pilots included Only through Shopify, on your Shopify bill Standard: USD 199 a month, 14-day free trial, up to 300 conversations a month, or a pilot plan offered to you on Shopify's plan page
Without Shopify (Instagram only) Invoice from Amaracus Limited As agreed in writing, e.g. the pilot plan
  1. Shopify billing. Shopify charges the plan you choose on its plan page and its own terms apply to the payment. You can change or cancel the plan at any time from the Shopify admin. A brand with a Shopify store connected pays for Salty only through Shopify, never by invoice from us.
  2. Conversation allowance. The allowance is a fair-use guide, not a hard stop. If you regularly exceed it, we will contact you about a larger plan before anything changes.
  3. Without an active plan the catalogue and new discount codes pause. Salty keeps answering, and orders from links already sent are still matched.
  4. Taxes. Prices exclude taxes unless stated; Shopify or our invoice adds the taxes that apply.
  5. Price changes take effect only after 30 days' notice, and you may cancel before they apply.

5. Ownership, confidentiality, availability and support

  1. Your content. You keep all rights in your content, your brand voice, your knowledge entries and your data. You give us the right to use them only to provide Salty to you.
  2. Our service. We keep all rights in Salty, its software and its design. If you send us suggestions, we may use them without owing you anything.
  3. Confidentiality. Each party keeps the other's non-public information confidential and uses it only for these Terms, during the Terms and for 3 years after.
  4. Availability. We work to keep Salty available but do not promise uninterrupted service. During the pilot there is no service-level commitment. We may change features, and will tell you before removing one you rely on.
  5. Support. Write to filippos@amaracus.org. We aim to answer within 1 business day.

6. Suspension, termination, liability and law

  1. Ending the service. You can stop at any time: cancel the plan, uninstall the Shopify app or tell us in writing. We may end these Terms with 30 days' notice, or at once if you seriously breach them.
  2. Suspension. We may pause your account at once to stop a security risk, a platform's instruction, or a serious breach of the acceptable use rules. We will tell you why and restore it when the cause is fixed.
  3. Your data at the end. Within 30 days after the end, or sooner on your written request, we delete your customers' personal data as the DPA describes. Uninstalling the Shopify app deletes the store's customer list from Salty at once.
  4. Liability. Neither party is liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Each party's total liability under these Terms is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
  5. Changes to these Terms. We will give you 30 days' notice of a material change by email or in the dashboard. If you do not agree, you may stop before it applies.
  6. Law and courts. These Terms and the DPA are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
